‘To Feel the Earth Shiver’ is a site-responsive design that seeks to balance access and ecological care at the entrance to Te Kopahou Coast - Wellington’s most accessible yet untamed natural landscape.

As the existing 4WD ‘paper track’ gradually dissolves into the site, the bridge walkway allows a more mindful relationship with the land . It offers an immersive, atmospheric transition into the landscape, shifting behavioural attitudes and protecting the health of Happe Stream - allowing it to flourish.

Through materiality, rhythm, and movement, the design encourages visitors to slow down, attune to natural elements, and shift their approach from dominance toward coexistence.
